East Coast Distributors (NSW) services the mid North Coast of NSW, supplying market leading ice cream brands to route trade customers including service stations, beach kiosks, independent grocery stores, schools and ice creameries.

The business has been established for over 33 years and commands a high market share within the area. Sole distribution rights account for over 60% of turnover.

Both Directors have been actively involved in the industry for over 40 years, in both corporate management roles and as owners/directors of a wholesale distribution business.

The products East Coast Distributors (NSW) distribute are already well-established brands in the marketplace requiring no further marketing from them. The major corporate partners produce the products and advertise the products on behalf of the wholesale distributors nationally.

As a result of Covid 19, the mid North Coast of NSW has experienced unprecedented population growth and has become a very desirable location in which to reside. This was an opportunity for a buyer to purchase a long established, reputable wholesale distribution business, offered for sale for the first time due to the retirement wishes of both Directors.

Lloyds initiated the sales process with a Business appraisal and Preparation of an Information Memorandum and Marketing teaser. This resulted in Lloyds obtaining 38 qualified buyer enquiries and 3 offers received.

This business opportunity received National and International enquiries from strategic buyers, private equity groups, high net worth individuals, as well as advisors to qualified buyers. Lloyds facilitated introductory meetings and worked with the vendor and the advisors through all aspects of the sale process.

The Sale was conducted by Kevin Sutherland who is the Director of International Business Sales for Lloyds.
